Submersible Liquid Level Transmitter

Submersible level sensor is a pressure transmitter that can be submerged and provide reliable level measurement reading for you via an electric signal. Based on stainless steel housing design, our submersible level transmitter can be immersed in water or any clean liquid that is compatible with stainless steel. It is rated IP68 for indoor or outdoor applications, such as inventory tanks, pump control systems, and water wells.

Submersible Liquid Level Sensor / Transducer

  • Feature small diameter size
  • Monitor hydrostatic level pressure
  • Optional signal outputs available

  • Submersible liquid level transmitters, providing industrial sensing applications, are designed for use in continuous tank level measurement. They indicate the liquid level by measuring the hydrostatic pressure via the sensing element of the transducer.
Our BDL03-01 submersible liquid level transmitter is encased in a 304 stainless steel housing with a polyurethane cable as standard. It measures the height of liquid above its position in an open and unpressurized tank or vessel. Standard output signal is 4-20mA, and 0-5V voltage output is on request. The level value is processed as an output signal, and it simultaneously can be read via a digital panel meter. Level measurement with submersible level transmitter is dependent on liquid density but independent of tank shapes. Its narrow body design can adapt to various container shapes and sizes for new or existing installations.

    Operating Principle and Applications

It is crucial process for industrial applications to measure the liquid level. Automatic system, for example, may use submersible level transmitter to control pumps, keeping water in the pumps. If the pumps run without water, it can cause the pumps to seriously degrade their performance, even break down. Therefore, maintaining liquid level within the normal range is important for any pump application to avoid dry run operation.
Submersible level transmitter is one of the industrial instruments for you to choose when you need to monitor the liquid level in open containers. The transmitter measures the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column above the pressure sensor element and transmits an output signal to the device which the transmitter is paired with. It is easy to install and operate. You just lower the submersible level transmitter into a liquid, and the pressure sensor will measure the pressure produced at the bottom of the liquid column. The level pressure is not affected by liquid volume or the shapes of containers. To obtain correct liquid level height, the sensor attached to a lead line must be placed at the lowest point of the container. The measured pressure is proportional to the height of the liquid above the sensor. When installing a submersible level transmitter, you have to lower the sensor to the bottom of the level tank slowly to prevent the cable from damaging. Damaging to the cable may result in transmitter failure. Besides, liquid density in the tank should be the same because the accuracy of measurement by using a pressure transmitter is dependent on the density of liquid. Liquid pressure increases or decreases depending upon the filling level in a tank or vessel. In other words, the higher the pressure is measured, the higher the liquid level is.
Installing a pressure sensor or submersible level transmitter can help you complete your liquid level monitoring and controlling. They measure the acting pressure which is converted into an electrical signal and then outputted as an output signal. If you are looking for a submersible level sensor for liquid level measurement, consider our BDL03-01 submersible level transmitter to meet your application requirement. Our submersible level transmitter, built to low maintenance and high standard of quality, provides not only long-term service life but also economical price.
